English Language Arts

Middle School Course Overview English Language Arts (ELA) is a core subject in BSD. All students take an ELA class in all three years of middle school. Starting in 6th grade, students are offered a strong college preparatory curriculum in language arts. Students read and analyze a variety of written works to learn about themes and topics in English. They build their understanding and knowledge of these themes in order to become confident writers.
